LAN/WAN Managers, sometimes called LAN /WAN Administrators, direct a network and its related computing environment, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations. They make recommendations regarding the purchase of equipment and report the fiscal impact to company managers. They often manage analysts and technicians;
however some managers of smaller companies work with just one technician. Network Managers often work irregular hours, especially during a system start-up or upgrade. They plan and track projects, write proposals and troubleshoot both operating system software and hardware.
